The Academic Orientations Project (AOP) is a research initiative led by a team of individuals affiliated with the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). The lead researchers are Dr. Talia Waltzer, Postdoctoral Scholar, and Arvid Samuelson, PhD Student. The project is supervised by Dr. Audun Dahl, an Associate Professor in the Psychology Department at UCSC.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to better understand the academic journeys of students across various stages of academia. We intend to evaluate how students’ academic environments, pressures, strengths, and weaknesses affect overall performance in school. Overall, we hope to gather research to look for ways to resolve issues that may present themselves to both learners and educators alike.Â
